1. Offline-First & Local Processing

Auto Captions AI operates primarily on an offline-first, local architecture.

• Zero External Server Storage: We do not upload, host, transmit, or store your videos, audio recordings, generated caption files, or transcriptions on external servers or cloud storage.

• On-Device Media Processing: All caption generation, speech-to-text processing, and media exports are executed directly on your device. Your original media files and generated outputs never leave your hardware.

2. Information Collection and Usage

• Personal Data: We do not collect, harvest, or request personally identifiable information (PII) such as your real name, physical address, email address, contact lists, or account credentials.

• Device Permissions: The application requests system access strictly necessary to function:

  • Storage / Photos & Videos Permissions: Required solely to import audio/video files for caption processing and to save exported videos/subtitle files back to your device.

  • Microphone (if applicable): Required solely if real-time audio recording or transcription is initiated by you.

  • These permissions do not grant us remote access to your device.

3. File Storage, Data Retention & Deletion

All project files, extracted audio, rendered videos, and caption files created or processed within Auto Captions AI remain exclusively under your local control.

• Processed and saved files are stored in your device's internal storage or app-specific directories.

How to Delete Your Files:

Because we store nothing on external servers, file deletion is entirely user-managed:

1. Via the App: You can delete projects, exported files, and cached media directly through the internal file/project manager within Auto Captions AI.

2. Via Third-Party File Managers: You can locate and permanently remove output videos, subtitle files (.srt, .vtt), and folders at any time using your device's default file browser or any third-party file management tool.

3. App Uninstall / Clear Cache: Clearing the app’s storage/cache via your device’s Settings > Apps > Auto Captions AI or uninstalling the application permanently wipes all application-specific cached files from your device.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising (Google Ads)

To support development and offer our services, Auto Captions AI integrates third-party services, primarily Google AdMob / Google Ads, to display advertisements.

• Ad Partners: Google and its advertising partners may use non-sensitive device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID / IDFA) and cookies/SDK telemetry to serve relevant ads, limit ad frequency, and measure performance.

• Ad Personalization Controls: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ad tracking directly via your device system settings:

  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Delete or Reset advertising ID

  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
