Dr. Muhammad Ateeq, a native of Sialkot, is a distinguished medical professional with a remarkable career in both clinical practice and medical education. After completing his SSC and HSSC examinations in 1984 and 1986, he pursued a medical degree and graduated with an MBBS from Rawalpindi Medical College in 1992. He further enhanced his surgical expertise by earning the Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) in General Surgery in 2000.

Dr. Ateeq’s career in medicine has spanned various roles, from clinical service to leadership in academic and administrative positions. His professional journey began in 1994 at Rawalpindi Medical College, where he served as a House Officer and advanced through the ranks, ultimately becoming an Assistant Professor of Surgery. In 2010, he moved to Nawaz Sharif Medical College, Gujrat, where he continues to serve as a Professor of Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Ateeq is a Visiting Surgeon at Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital, Gujrat, where he continues to provide expert care to patients.

In addition to his clinical and academic accomplishments, Dr. Ateeq has also held key administrative roles. He served as the Director of the Emergency Department at DHQ Hospital, Rawalpindi, where he played a pivotal role in the development and management of emergency services. His leadership capabilities were further demonstrated when he was appointed as the Principal of Nawaz Sharif Medical College, Gujrat, where he worked to enhance the institution’s educational standards and overall academic environment.

As a career medical educator, Dr. Ateeq has been actively involved in both undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (FCPS and MS General Surgery) training. He has been serving as an examiner for MBBS and postgraduate surgical exams since 2009, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained in medical education.
