The Ontario Health and Safety Act includes certain mandatory requirements for employers in Canada.
These mandatory requirements will be covered thoroughly, although this eLearning package does not replace or can be used as a substitute for legal advice (Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development).

It is a legally mandated requirement for all organizations with 20 (twenty) or more employees to implement a Joint Health and Safety Committee (Queen's Printer for Ontario).
This section will give you the overview necessary to understand the legal requirements and begin implementing a Joint Health and Safety Committee in the workplace.

As an employer in Ontario Canada, under the Ontario OHSA (Queen's Printer for Ontario), WHMIS training is mandatory (Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development).
This objective will teach Human Resource professionals the basics of WHMIS in the workplace, and protocols such as "fire safety" and "emergency planning", all of these policies are crucial to any organization and can have major implications if not properly implemented.

This section will thoroughly explain ergonomics to the HR employees and provide possible examples as well as improvements that can be made to the workplace to prevent possible risks of injury due to the work environment.

This section will explain to HR professionals what can be done to promote wellness to employees and it's importance to the organization.
HR professionals will be trained on the importance of a wellness program as it encourages employees to live a well rounded lifestyle and in turn increase energy and concentration in the workplace.
This objective will be covered in Section 5.0, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
HR professionals will gain knowledge about the importance of WSIB for an organization, as well as the benefits it has towards employees.
This objective would be covered in Section 5.0, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
Several topics will be covered in congruence with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, such as the definition of WSIB, procedure to report, deadline to report and employer premiums.
This objective would be covered in Section 5.0, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
The exposure of information regarding WSIB will allow HR professionals to efficiently and effectively assist their employees during such circumstances such as workplace injuries and accidents.
This objective will also be touched upon throughout the sections, as each section has it's own set of implications if not addressed.

This section covers the importance of relevant legislation such as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
