Hey Beautiful Beings!
Let’s meet me right quick:
Child of God but I cuss like a sailor. Happily married to the absolute best soul I’ve met in life. In 40wise(5) years on this blue water ball, I have served America without being forced, I became a cop when I saw the need after Alton Sterling murder, and now embarking on the path of Telling My Truth so others can’t misquote me.
SU Grad with a psych degree that simply serves me to know people. I am passionate about my organization Gamma Alpha Psi, Inc. where I serve as the International Grand President.
Come get to know me better for yourself!
AKA Dr. Hope
I am a Licensed Social Worker, author, and advocate for women healing from childhood trauma and toxic-mother daughter relationships. I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, a proud HBCU graduate of Southern University & A&M College, and a Doctor of Social Work (DSW)
With many years of experience working with at-risk youth, adolescents, and young adults, I have always known that I was meant to use my story and gifts to make an impact on women as it relates to overcoming obstacles, building healthy relationships, and improving mental health.
Shortly after obtaining my Master’s degree in Social Work, I moved across the world to live in South Korea. Aside from working in a local counseling center, I answered the call to fill the need of so many black women ex-pats in Korea in need of transforming their lives. Using myself as a testament, I want others to know it's possible to find hope in life after trauma and hardship so my goal is to use my platform, knowledge, and personal experiences to encourage other young women of color to overcome through connection and empowerment.
Since returning stateside, I have become even more passionate about my mission to help black women continue to move toward healing.

Meet LaMyra:
At two score years old (that's 40, but who's counting?), I've had more roles than a Shakespearean play—16 years in the Army taught me discipline, resilience, and how to make a mean cup of instant coffee.
These days, I've traded my combat boots for cozy slippers as a school psychologist. It's my way of being the supportive figure I wish I had at 13—helping kids navigate life's maze with a smile and a listening ear. Mental health in the black and LGBT communities is my passion, because everyone deserves a safe space to thrive.
When I'm not decoding teenage angst, you might find me unleashing my creative side—I've dabbled in spoken word poetry, perfected the art of locs, and even tackled women's football (literally). But my absolute favorite gigs? Being a mom to my amazing kids and a partner-in-crime to my equally amazing spouse. Oh, and I can't forget our furry family member, LaLa, the beautifully lazy shih-tzu who is basically another co host since she’s always next to me.
Proud graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I earned my master's in School Psychology. I'm proof that life is what you make it—so let's make it awesome!
