Koko is an AI assistant that develops meal plans for women based on data collected around the world! Koko uses data that is submitted by respondents about their meals and digestive wellness to create meal plans that optimize digestive well-being and determine which meals may be causing digestive issues. Koko was developed using DANA which is another AI platform that Healing Biome has developed.

How It Works:

Koko collects information from surveys, photos, and more from respondents. This information relates to your diet and digestive wellness. This is used to create meal plans tailored for optimal wellness. Are you concerned that your diet is not the best? No problem! This still provides useful info about which foods to avoid and tips can be provided to you as a respondent as well. Customers pay for Koko to provide their own meal plan based on international diets. Popular choices include Jamaican meal plans which feature delicious fish dishes, Latin American meal plans which feature rich spices, and South African meal plans which include influences from African, European, and Asian cultures.

Use of Information:

Personal identifying data will not be shared beyond the company without your consent. A variety of procedures are taken to protect personal information which includes restriction of who is able to access data, use of survey codes to prevent names from appearing on surveys, and secured storage locations. Before taking part you will also be asked to complete a terms of service agreement that notifies you of your rights as a respondent. This includes the notification that you have the right to withdraw participation at anytime.

Funding:

The start-up costs were provided by Healing Biome. Koko is maintained using funds generated by customers that use it. Funds from our Intern Connect Program can also be used to compensate respondents under certain conditions which include low customer engagement periods and for assistance with respondent recruitment and retainment. The Intern Connect Program allows individuals to get work experience with Healing Biome and other companies.

Compensation:

Compensation is determined by the amount of items you provide.

• Journals - You will provide info about the foods you eat during a day along with questions pertaining to the bowel movements you have, and more. This can be completed up to once a day for a base rate of $2 and only takes a few minutes to complete. This is provided as a survey link. Each bowel movement you document in the survey will earn you an additional $2. Up to 2 BM's may be documented per day. This means you can earn up to $6/journal.

• Gas Surveys - You can complete up to 2 surveys to document you gas during the day for $1 each. These are optional.

• Additional surveys that pertain to various topics related to the development of Koko and the company pay a rate of $3/survey. 

• Stool Photos - These may also be provided for additional pay of up to $5/photo, but are not required. They provide additional information about the impact of foods you consume using the Bristol Stool Chart.

• Virtual Interviews - Respondents may be interviewed by Koko to provide information about their diet, digestive wellness, and more. Interviews usually last for 30-60 minutes and pay $15-$30 per interview. These are private between you and the AI platform. They are not recorded, but notes are taken by interview from each session.

• You can be compensated or reimbursed for purchasing particular meals at restaurants to evaluate their impact on wellness. You would be asked to provide a photo of the receipt and meal for documentation.

• Ask us about the working hours bonus for data documentations that occur during "working hours" at your regular place of employment. The bonus is 1.5x the listed rate. So a stool photo is captured at your place of employment would result in you earning $7.50 instead of $5 for example. This is provided to promote digestive health within workspaces. This is also a popular additional offer that assists with recruitment. More info about this will be provided at your request.

Here is a further breakdown of possible earnings.

• Up to $8+/day for surveys and journals only. The working hours bonus increases this rate to $12+/day. Completing these for 7 days would result in earning up to $84+.

• Including photos increases the amount to up to $18+/day. The working hours bonus increases this amount to $27+/day. Completing these for 7 days would result in earning up to $189+.

It is common to be asked to take part for 1-3 days to up to 1 month at a time. Respondents that were contacted on Fiverr will be paid on Fiverr. Respondents can also be paid on PayPal in which payments will be sent up to 2 weeks after completion of task. 

Timeline:

It is common for us to ask respondents to take part for up to 6 months. During that time you may take part for several times a week, weekly, or less often than that. After that time you may be asked to participate less often or not at all anymore. This opportunity is designed to be flexible. You may withdraw from the program at anytime by notifying us.
