This program focuses on developing an AI-assisted fall prevention system that integrates image recognition and home-based exercise interventions. Participants will explore how smart technologies can detect environmental hazards in real time and provide personalized exercise recommendations for older adults.
Program Duration
May – August 2026 (3 months)
Minimum participation: Full program duration
Includes community site visits to experience Taiwan’s Long-Term Care system.
Facilities & Training
Participants will have access to:
AI image recognition systems
Environmental sensing equipment
Hands-on system development & data collection
Work alongside occupational therapists and community practitioners to co-develop innovative solutions.
Eligibility
International undergraduate or graduate students (Hold non-Taiwan degree)
Backgrounds in:
Occupational Therapy
Rehabilitation
Public Health
Health-related fields
English proficiency for academic participation
English proficiency for academic participation is required. Applicants should provide valid proof of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL or an equivalent standardized test). This requirement may be waived for those whose native language is English or who are from countries where English is the primary language of instruction. Alternatively, applicants who are fluent in Chinese, including reading and writing, may also be exempt from the English proficiency requirement.
