Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 14, 2026
Thank you for using "Heads Up・Charades for Adults" ("the App"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the App on iOS and Android.
1. Information We Collect
The App does not require account registration, and we do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information for our own customer database. The App is a party game: you hold the phone to your forehead, tilt it to score or pass, and play through word decks. Depending on how you use the App, the following information may be processed:
- Game data stored on your device: your game history (deck played, score, correct and passed words, round length), your selected deck, and your results.
- App settings stored on your device: interface language, round duration, sound and haptics preferences, control mode (tilt, tap, or both), and the pass-penalty option.
- Device motion data: the App reads your device's accelerometer to detect tilt gestures during a round. This data is processed in real time on your device only, and is never stored or transmitted.
- Subscription and purchase data: if you purchase a subscription, our subscription provider and the app store process the purchase (transaction identifier, product, subscription status, and a pseudonymous device or vendor identifier). We do not receive your payment card details.
- Basic technical information: device model, operating system version, app version, and country or locale, which may be processed by our subscription provider to deliver and validate purchases.
The App does not record audio, does not use the camera, does not request your contacts or location, and does not display advertising.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information only to provide and improve the App's features. Specifically, we use it to:
- Run the gameplay: detect tilt gestures so a round can score, pass, and advance words.
- Save your progress and preferences so your game history, settings, and selected language are still there next time you open the App.
- Show your game history and round summaries.
- Provide and validate premium access: unlock all decks, manage your subscription status, and restore purchases across your devices.
- Respond to your support requests when you contact us by email.
- Diagnose technical problems and improve the stability and quality of the App.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
3. Third-Party Services
The App is built with Expo and React Native and relies on a small number of third-party services. Each of these services processes data according to its own privacy policy:
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) — subscription management, purchase validation, paywall delivery, and entitlement checks. RevenueCat may process a pseudonymous device identifier, purchase and subscription events, and basic device and app information.
- Apple App Store (Apple Inc.) and Google Play (Google LLC) — payment processing, subscription billing, renewals, restoring purchases, and app distribution. Payments are handled entirely by the app stores; we never see your payment details.
- Expo — the development platform and libraries used to build and run the App.
We do not integrate advertising networks or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
4. Data Storage
Your game history and settings are stored locally on your device using the operating system's standard app storage, and they remain under your control:
- Local data stays on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers, and we do not operate a server that stores your gameplay data.
- Deleting the App removes the locally stored game history and settings from your device.
- Subscription and purchase records are stored by RevenueCat and by the app stores for as long as needed to provide your subscription, to restore purchases, and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Data processed by our third-party providers may be stored on servers located in countries other than your own, always subject to those providers' safeguards.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information processed by the App:
- Data transmitted between the App and our subscription provider is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS).
- Local data is protected by your device's built-in app sandboxing and operating system security.
- We minimize the data we process: the App only handles what it needs to run the game and manage subscriptions.
Please note that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is a party game designed for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App does not require registration, does not ask for personal details, and stores gameplay data only on the device. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has used the App and provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the App stores gameplay data only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly:
- Clear your game history from within the App, or delete the App to remove all locally stored data.
- Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
To make a request regarding data held by our subscription provider, or to ask any question about your rights, contact us at KallumDanielBrooks@icloud.com. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, in our third-party services, or in applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and publish the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the App after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
9. Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns, or requests about this Privacy Policy or about how the App handles your data, please contact us at:
- Email: KallumDanielBrooks@icloud.com
We will do our best to answer you as quickly as possible.
By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
