Headr is a Chrome extension for adding, changing and removing HTTP headers. It is built to keep your data on your device.
What Headr stores
Your profiles, header rules and settings. These are saved only in your browser's local extension storage. They never leave your device unless you export them yourself.
Request activity (optional, off by default). If you turn on Request activity, Headr keeps a short list of recent requests on your device (the URL without its query string, the method, the request type and the request headers) so you can see which rules matched. Headers that look like credentials, such as Authorization, Cookie, tokens, API keys, secrets and passwords, are replaced with [redacted]. The list holds at most 500 entries and you can clear it at any time.
What Headr does not do
Headr sends nothing to the developer or any third party, except feedback you choose to submit (see below).
Headr has no analytics, tracking, advertising or remote code.
Headr does not sell, rent or share user data.
Permissions
Host access to all sites and declarativeNetRequest: to apply the header rules you create, on the sites you choose.
webRequest: only to show the optional Request activity log.
activeTab: to read the address of the current tab so you can limit a rule to that site with one click.
storage: to save your profiles and settings on your device.
Feedback
When you click Send feedback, Headr sends the developer the message you typed, the feedback type, the reply email if you entered one, your Headr version and your browser's version information. Nothing is sent until you click Send feedback. Your header rules, profiles, browsing history and request activity are never included.
Feedback is stored in a private Google Forms spreadsheet. It is used only to read and reply to feedback, and is never sold or shared. To have your feedback deleted, email the address below.
Support payments
Support Headr opens a checkout page run by an external payment provider. Payments are handled entirely by that provider under its own privacy policy. Headr never sees or stores your payment details.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
