EVENT OVERVIEW

This symposium will provide a multifaceted approach to health equity, emphasizing the importance of culturally relevant solutions and healthy eating patterns aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans in combating disparities. With a strong focus on the White House strategy, the symposium aims to elevate the science behind these solutions by debunking myths surrounding under-consumed food groups, showcasing strategies and approaches to improve access and empower communities of color to adopt healthy eating patterns while fostering the professional development of a diverse workforce to ultimately harness the transformative power of nutrition and drive positive change in healthcare and communities of color. The overall goal of the symposium is to enhance understanding of the role of affordable and culturally relevant eating patterns in addressing health and nutrition disparities among people of color.
