HD Video Player: Media Player

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 10, 2025

Fixer Social Apps ("we," "our," or "us") operates the HD Video Player: Media Player (the "App"). This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our App. By using our app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information Collection and Use

In a video player app, the collected data typically refers to information generated within the app itself, without pulling any personal data from the user's device, unless specified. Since the video player does not require personal details like contacts or messages, the data collected might include:

Video Preferences: Data related to videos the user plays, such as preferred video format (MP4, AVI, etc.), preferred subtitles, playback speed, volume settings, and the most recently played video.

Playlists and Favorites: If the app allows users to create playlists, this data (playlist names, videos added) would be stored locally on the user’s device.

Playback Settings: Details like resolution preferences (720p, 1080p, 4K), screen orientation (landscape or portrait), and brightness settings.

History: Recent videos played and watch time. This is stored locally and not shared with third parties unless specified.

In line with the policy, alarm-related data is local to the user's device, and similarly, any video data (playlists, preferences, etc.) would be stored locally on the device.

2. Data Storage and Security

All data related to The App is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store this data on external servers. Any analytics data collected through third-party services (e.g., Firebase) is anonymized.

We employ appropriate security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption and regular security audits. However, no method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

3. Cookies

The App itself does not use cookies, but third-party services like Google AdMob or Firebase Analytics may use cookies to collect anonymized information. You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings.

4. Third-Party Services

Hilt

Hilt is a dependency injection library that helps manage how objects are provided throughout your app. The hilt-android and hilt-compiler dependencies allow easy injection of dependencies into activities, fragments, and other Android components. This is particularly useful in a video player app, ensuring smooth transitions between screens while maintaining media playback.

Lifecycle ViewModel

This dependency helps manage UI-related data in a way that respects the app's lifecycle. In a video player app, it can store and track playback progress, buffering status, and user settings, even when the screen rotates or the app temporarily stops.

Lifecycle LiveData

LiveData is an observable data holder that updates the UI automatically when data changes. In a video player, it helps track playback progress, buffering, and other real-time updates, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Lifecycle Extensions

These provide additional lifecycle-aware components like ViewModelProvider, LiveData, and LifecycleObserver, ensuring that the app correctly handles background and foreground transitions. It helps in pausing or stopping video playback when the app is minimized.

KTX for Activity & Fragment

KTX extensions simplify common tasks for Activities and Fragments. They help manage coroutines in a lifecycle-aware way, making background video loading more efficient. For Fragments, they make navigation smoother and improve lifecycle handling, ensuring proper UI updates when switching between screens.

SDP & SSP

The ssp-android and sdp-android dependencies help maintain consistent scaling for text (ssp) and layout elements (sdp) across different screen sizes, ensuring a responsive UI for your video player.

Glide

Glide is an efficient image-loading library used for handling images smoothly in Android apps. It helps manage thumbnails and artwork for videos without slowing down the app.

Karumi Dexter

Dexter simplifies runtime permission handling in Android apps. In a video player, it ensures the app correctly requests permissions for storage access and other essential features.

Circle ImageView

This library (de.hdodenhof:circleimageview) is used to display circular images in the UI, often for user profile pictures or thumbnails.

CYM Chad (BaseRecyclerViewAdapterHelper - BRVAH)

This library helps manage RecyclerView adapters efficiently, making it easier to handle lists, such as displaying a list of videos or playlists in the app.

EventBus

EventBus is a library that enables easy communication between different parts of the app, such as activities, fragments, and background services. It helps keep video playback controls responsive across different screens.

Realm Database & Adapters

Realm is a local database that provides fast and efficient data storage. It helps manage saved video lists, user preferences, and playback history within the app.

ExoPlayer

ExoPlayer is a powerful video and audio player developed by Google. It supports various media formats, streaming protocols like HLS and DASH, and allows full control over playback, buffering, and customization.

WorkManager

WorkManager is used to handle background tasks, such as downloading subtitles, updating video lists, or syncing user data even when the app isn't open.

Airbnb Lottie

Lottie enables smooth, high-quality animations in Android apps. It helps add engaging animations to improve the user experience, such as loading animations while buffering videos.

Firebase

Firebase is used to collect anonymous data about app usage, such as feature engagement and crash reports, helping improve the app's stability and performance. No personal data is collected.

RootBeer Library

The RootBeer library (com.scottyab:rootbeer-lib:0.1.0) detects if a device is rooted, helping enhance security in apps where root detection is important.

Google In-App Purchases (Google Akshat)

This library (com.github.akshaaatt:Google-IAP:1.7.0) allows the app to integrate Google Play's in-app purchase system for premium features.

Gson Converter

This dependency enables Retrofit to automatically convert JSON data into Java objects, simplifying network communication.

Google App Update

The Google Play In-App Update API (com.google.android.play:app-update:2.1.0) allows the app to notify users about updates and prompt them to update directly from within the app.

Google Play Services (AdMob)

This dependency (com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:22.1.0) enables Google AdMob integration, allowing the app to display ads.

Gson

Gson (com.google.code.gson:gson:2.10.1) is a library for converting Java objects into JSON and vice versa, making it easier to handle structured data in the app.

Common Java8

This dependency (common-java8:1.1.1) provides compatibility with Java 8 features like CompletableFuture and lambda expressions, making background tasks more efficient.

Room Database

Room Database (androidx.room:room) helps store and manage local data efficiently while ensuring privacy. It does not share contact data or store it on external servers.

String Obfuscation

The io.michaelrocks.paranoid library is used to hide and obfuscate sensitive strings and text within the app, improving data security and preventing reverse engineering.

INTERNET – Allows the app to access the internet for streaming, downloading, or other online functions.

CHANGE_WIFI_STATE – Enables the app to modify Wi-Fi settings, such as prompting users to switch to a Wi-Fi network for a better experience.

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE – Allows the app to check the current Wi-Fi connection status, helping detect when Wi-Fi is available.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – Lets the app save or modify video files on external storage. Helpful for downloading or editing videos.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – Grants the app access to read files stored on external storage, which is important for playing and displaying media.

READ_MEDIA_VIDEO – Replaces the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission on Android 13+ to allow access to video files specifically, following new privacy rules.
