Legal Resources
Many of us are facing retaliation and threats from our employers for speaking out against the ongoing genocide and Israeli apartheid. If this is happening to you, we are here for you! Tap into your local network of healthcare workers organizing for Palestine if you want public support, and see below for basic tips and legal resources:
Basic internet security tips (gathered from various trainings and resources):
Know who you’re sharing posts/info with: look through who is following you and sees your posts, and adjust as needed
Review privacy settings on your social media account and limit access to information such as phone numbers, email addresses
Can be helpful to follow people with the opposing view so if your account is reported it can appear balanced
Look yourself up on sites like https://www.beenverified.com/app/optout/search to see what information is available for you and opt out

If you are actively being harassed online or doxxed:
See full anti doxxing guide from Equality Labs here: https://www.equalitylabs.org/research/publications-resources
Report social media harassment here: https://7or.7amleh.org/forms
If approached by institutional leadership/HR:
Document, document, document
If you have been approached in person, document by sending a follow up email describing the experience: e.g. “to clarify, we spoke today about …”
Understand the landscape of your employer: specifically are you a public or private institution? Public employees have certain additional protections
If you are unionized you have the right to bring a union rep or coworker with you to any meeting with leadership
Identify and document experiences of discrimination for protected characteristics: race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age (40 or older), disability and genetic information (including family medical history)
If you are being targeted for social media posts, look for and document posts from analogous Zionist employees at your institution (can crowdsource this from our national and local groups), often these posts are not getting reported to the same degree and you can highlight the discrepancy in response
