B，Description of the Special Workshop

(November 23, 2:00-4:00pm)

1. Topic: How to publish in Aging Journals

2.AHLA welcomes Prof. Michelle Putnam from the United States to deliver this special workshop for people who would like to pubish in aging ioumals and to be more

engaged in gerontological research.

Prof. Putnam comes to the Gerontology Institute from Simmons University School of Social Work (SSW), where she served as the interim director ofthe SSW, director ofthe PhD program, co-chair for faculty

development, and associate dean for research, among other leadership and faculty roles.

Prof. Putnam is among few scholars with an expertise in the study of aging with disability, building awareness ofthe differing needs ofthose who age with a long-term

disability and those who incur disabilty later in life. Much of her research focuses on how

public programs and public policy support the needs ofthese groups.
