Candidate who have registered for the Cambridge IGCSE® non-First Language subjects are required to attend a speaking test.
Speaking Test date and time will be sent to all candidates to the Email (scheduled to receive starting from 15 March 2025) you have entered during the registration process.

Show your Statement of Entry (SOE) to the Security Guard to obtain a pass to the British Council office.
1. Speaking test for Malay - Foreign Language (0546) will be conducted at British Council Penang; and Speaking Test for Chinese - Second Language (0523) and Mandarin Chinese - Foreign Language (0547) will be conducted at Han Chiang High School (HCEC) (For 30/3, 13/4 & 19/4 only). You are required to arrange your transportation to the exam venue.
2. Parking spaces are limited around the British Council Penang venue. We advised parents to drop off your child.
3. Please report at the exam venue not later than 30 minutes before your scheduled speaking time.
4. TWO important documents that you MUST bring are:
I. Original national identity card or Passport
II. Statement of Entry (Printed on a single side clean A4 size paper. Do not write anything on the statement.)
5. Wear full school uniform to attend the examination. A coat/jacket is acceptable to wear. Do not bring any valuable item to the exam venue.
6. It is advisable to wear a face mask. You may take off your mask during your speaking test.
7. Speaking Test is part of the subject’s component. If you missed your speaking test, it will affect your subject’s overall result.
8. If you are unable to attend the speaking test, immediately send an email to British Council Penang (Penang.Exams@britishcouncil.org.my). You must include your Name, Candidate Number, National ID, Code, Syllabus, Component and Reason for not able to attend the test. You must also attach related documents to support your reason in the email.
9. Rescheduling of speaking test will based on the availability of the examiner, and the reason of your absence.
10. After the completion of your speaking test, you must return all test materials (if any) given to you during registration. Leave the exam venue immediately. Do not wandering around the exam venue or gathering with your friends (especially those at the waiting room).
