Professor
Miran Lee, Ph.D.
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Miran Lee is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer and Information Engineering (Computer Software) and a Principal Investigator at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCI Lab), Daegu University from Mar. 2022. From Oct. 2021 to Jan. 2022, she worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Service Robotics Lab at The University of Tokyo. She earned the Ph.D. degree in the Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering and worked in the Advanced Intelligent System Lab, Ritsumeikan University (Shiga, Japan, in 2021). She also received a Japanese government scholarship funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) from 2018 to 2021. She earned the M.S. degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Inha University (Incheon, Republic of Korea, in 2016) and received the B.S. degree in the Department of Computer Science at Incheon National University (Incheon, Republic of Korea, in 2014). From 2016 to 2018, she worked as a Researcher in the Center for Bionics at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Seoul, Republic of Korea. She also was a Researcher in the Advanced Research Team at the Life Science Technology, Co. Ltd., (Seoul, Republic of Korea) in 2018.
Her research explores a human-robot interaction and a method to apply machine learning in health care and medical diagnosis system. Further, the approaches of study present the classification of activity state, extraction and analysis of bio parameters related to stress, and measurement of stress level in mobile environments. Doctoral research was to develop the care training assistant robot with robotic emotion and personality for improving caregiver’s skill in an elderly care environment.
