About me

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Economics of the University of Manchester, where I develop my work under the project ‘'Measuring the Great Divergence: a study of global standards of living, 1500-1950".

My research focuses especially in global living standards, labour and occupational structures, and gender since 1500.

I am on the 2023/2024 Job Market

In my JMP (working paper), I examine the effects of coercion on labour markets, as well as their consequences in the living standards of Angolan urban workers. The highly distorted labour market in Angola led to the impoverishment of the gross of the population during most of 19th and 20th centuries.
