Starting in Middle School, I participated in multiple mathematics competitions, and later on in High School I would start participating in programming competitions, which I would continue to participate in throughout my university years. These competitions were essential for developing my interest in mathematics and computer science. I also briefly participated in Physics and Chemistry competitions, to help figure out my potential better and what path to follow, and while I achieved good initial results, I chose to focus on Mathematics and Informatics.

With good timing on my side, I achieved the distinction of being the first person to win 6 medals at the Portuguese Mathematical Olympiad and the first person representing Portugal to get a medal both at the International Mathematical Olympiad and the International Olympiad in Informatics, both in 2017, feats that were quickly surpassed the next year.

My results in each competition are as follows:

[1] in a team with Duarte Maia and João Tavares

[2] in a team with Alberto Cavaleiro and Gonçalo Paredes

[3] in a team with Duarte Maia and Maria Madrugo

[4] in a team with Sofia Guerreiro

[5] in a team representing my High School
