This portfolio piece is a copy of the original website for the event, with some edits made to remove sensitive information.
In addition to our live Zoom presentations, you can connect with students and other event attendees through our Slack workspace. [Link was here.]
Anyone is welcome to drop by and make connections with our Honors College students and the HC team!
Slack is a remote communication tool that we will be using to host additional conversation before, during, and after the Zoom presentations.
We recommend that you create an account with Slack and join our Slack workspace [link was here] before the event, but this is not necessary.
We encourage you to make connections in this space! You can access the space before, during, and after the event.
You have the ability to chat with students and other guests in large channels grouped according to the schools at Oakland University.
You can use these channels to talk about students' thesis projects, relevant job opportunities, or anything related to students in these schools.
The channels include :
all-participants : event-wide announcements and communication with all guests and participants in the event
arts-and-sciences : OU's College of Arts and Sciences
business-administration : OU's School of Business Administration
education-human-services : OU's School of Education and Human Services
engineering-computer-science : OU's School of Engineering and Computer Science
health-sciences : OU's School of Health Sciences
nursing : OU's School of Nursing
Feel free to move throughout the different channels depending on your interests.
You can also send direct messages to make individual connections.
However, we recommend that you do not use this Slack space for communication while attending any live Zoom presentations. Instead, use the Zoom live chat for any discussions related to a presentation while it is happening.
This Slack workspace will be open for public use for a limited time after the event.
On April 16th, 2021, the space will be closed.
If you would like to keep in touch with any connections you make through this event, we recommend that you move off of this Slack workspace and onto another platform such as LinkedIn or email.
If you are unfamiliar with Slack, you can access tutorials and additional technical support on our Help page.
