Founded in February 2022, HBUNC (Historically Black at UNC) emerged in response to a growing need for connection and representation. Post-COVID-19, many Black students felt disconnected and struggled to stay informed about campus happenings. In this challenging time, the HBUNC social media page quickly became a trusted source for news, entertainment, and community engagement. What began as a small initiative has since evolved into a cornerstone of campus life, uniting students through storytelling, creativity, and service.
