Laboratory of Membrane Protein and Structural Cell biology
Our lab elucidates the structural principles of membrane proteins by integrating cryo-EM, cryo-ET, and complementary biochemical and biophysical approaches.
We focus on how membrane proteins, such as ion channels and transporters, function within their native cellular environment and how their precise interactions with other proteins regulate fundamental life processes. Beyond individual protein structures, we explore the dynamic and emergent phenomena occurring at biological membranes. By utilizing in situ cryo-ET to visualize these processes directly in their native context, we aim to extract the fundamental principles of life from complex intracellular structural landscapes.
