Visitor Information

The grounds of Harrisburg Cemetery Association (H.C.A.) are open from 8:30am until 4:30pm year-round weather permitting. 

Staff is generally available Monday thru Friday and the 2nd Saturday morning of the month. Weekend and after-hours visitations with staff are available by appointment. Please call the cemetery office to set up an appointment at 717.234.8661 well in advance.

Visitor Safety.

When visiting Harrisburg Cemetery we ask that all visitors be aware of your footing when walking on our grounds. Like all cemeteries of our age there may be hidden voids, depressions, or holes in the ground or other trip hazards.

Please, for your safety. Do not walk up to staff operating equipment. 

If you have a question or need help finding a grave. Please, stay in one place until the operator sees you. The operator will shut the equipment down and tell you when it is safe to approach. 

 Visitor Rules.

Harrisburg Cemetery is an active cemetery, we ask that all visitors show the proper courtesy and respect while on our grounds, please do not disturb funeral parties and those visiting their loved ones buried here.

DO NOT PARK on the grass. Always stay on the drives.

NO PHOTOGRAPHY on the grounds without prior permission.

H.C.A. prohibits any type of chalking, rubbing, or cleaning of the monuments. 

NO lifting of any monument, stone, or adornment on our grounds. 

NO metal detecting or digging on the grounds.

NO trimming, pruning, or cutting of plantings.

NO unlicensed vehicles, motorcycles, ATVs, scooters or go-carts.

NO trespassing after posted hours.

Illegal, prohibited, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.


Dogs are permitted, BUT this is a privilege granted by the Association board.

Dogs must keep their owners on a leash at all times, on the drives and picked up after.
