HBC Boat Shows

Three successful boat shows were held to raise money for the 1982 clubhouse rebuild. Shows started with a parade through High Street Lower Hutt. At one show, Geoff Stagg's keeler, Whispers was on display outside the Lower Hutt Town Hall and available for inspection. At another show, an HBC member, Murray Campbell, built a boat during the show so people could see the process. Fashion shows of the latest yachting gear, supplied by a local marine chandler were also a feature and starred Ron Bailey in comedy mode wearing vintage yachting gear.

One of the boat shows was held in August 1984.
