This site has been created with information collected by Ron Bailey (1933 - 2024). Ron became a member of the Heretaunga Boating Club in the 1940's.

Ron was a yachtie; he sailed a Tauranga/P Class, Cherub, Idle Along and X Class before becoming a 'P Class Dad'.

He represented Wellington in the 1963 and 1964 Moffat Cup Regattas at Napier, sailing with Neil Press (skipper) and Colin Ketterwell (for'ard-hand).

Ron served on the HBC Committee for many years and also served as President and then Patron of the Club. He was made a Life Member of HBC in 1996.
