Kindergarten-5th Grade Music Curriculum
The Hazeldale music curriculum is designed using national, state, and district standards. Both Mrs. McMillen and Ms. S-J are also certified in the Kodaly and Orff approaches to music education, and use concepts from those trainings to build engaging lessons centered on music literacy and joyful exploration of music.
If you would like to see what concepts we will be working on by grade you can take a look at the scope and sequence by grade below:
Misty Morning Recording
Flowers grow on the hillside, in the valley below,
Fragrant with their blossoms sweet, full of majesty and beauty.
Sunshine blazing, giving life to all nature.
Underneath the moonlight, nature takes her rest.
Flowers sleep in the earth so deep, all is peaceful and still.
New Moon rising, all is peaceful and still. All is peaceful and still.

Out in the marketplace I hear the bluebird sing,
Chirping so merrily, what a happy playful thing.
No tengo dinero, señor, no tengo dinero
Para comprar el pajarito. pero tengo casita, acomodadita.
No tengo dinero para el pequeñito.
The man in the marketplace, selling the pretty bows,
Sees how I love the bird with the tiny yellow toes.
No tengo dinero, señor, no tengo dinero
Para comprar el pajarito. pero tengo casita, acomodadita.
No tengo dinero para el pequeñito.
I know I would care for him if he were my own.
I would listen to him sing, and love him till he’s grown.
No tengo dinero, señor, no tengo dinero.
No tengo dinero, señor, no tengo dinero.
The man in the marketplace, with a glimmer in his eyes,
Gives me the tiny bird. Oh what a great surprise!
No necessito dinero, señor, no necessito dinero.
Para comprar el pajarito. Porque yo tengo casita, acomodita.
No necessito dinero para el pequeñito.
No necissito dinero para el pequeñito
