Oliver and Marguerite Hoey are third generation farmers and have been farming in Ballymakenny for over 30 years. Originally dairy farmers, they decided to move into free range egg production in 2006 and built two 5,000 bird houses
Our 10,000 hens are free to roam and peck in their field but also have a nice warm barn to shelter from the glorious Irish weather.
Both bird houses are approved by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and are certified with Bord Bia under the Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme.
Our eggs are free range and definitely fresh with only 100 yards to travel from hen to your hand.
Oliver sings his favourite Johnny Cash songs to the hens every day to encourage them to lay.
We supply our free range eggs to Belview Eggs and also to several cafes and restaurants in Drogheda and further afield.
