Projection Mapping App
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Hazelight doesn't collect anything about you. There are no accounts, no servers, and your work stays on your device. The app is designed to let you create projection mapping experiences without sending your images, videos or personal information anywhere. Here's how it works in a bit more detail.
Hazelight lets you identify objects and areas on surfaces, such as walls and other objects, and layer your own videos over them to create projection mapping experiences.
Your photos, videos, surface selections, masks, layers and other project information are processed on your own device. Hazelight doesn't upload them to a server or send them to anyone.
The camera is only used when you choose to use a camera feature. If you select a photo or video from your library, the app only accesses the media you choose and the permissions you grant. It doesn't automatically access your entire photo library.
Your camera feed and any images used to set up your mapping experience stay on your device.
Your Hazelight projects are saved on your device so you can open them again and continue working later. This may include your selected images and videos, mapped surfaces, masks, layers, positioning, settings and other information needed to recreate your projection mapping setup.
Your projects are stored locally by Hazelight and aren't sent to an external server.
If you delete a project, it is removed from the app's local storage. Deleting the app removes its locally stored data, although files you have separately exported or saved elsewhere may remain. If you back up your device, some app data may be included in that backup, depending on your Apple settings.
If you export a project, save a video or image, or share your work, the resulting file goes where you choose to send or save it.
Hazelight doesn't independently upload your work or send it to anyone. If you choose to use another app or service to share your work, that service's own privacy policy applies.
No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no location tracking and no third-party advertising SDKs. Hazelight doesn't collect personal information or send your projects to external servers.
The app is designed to work with your content directly on your device.
Hazelight can be used by students, teachers, artists and anyone interested in projection mapping. There are no accounts or chat features, and the app doesn't collect personal information.
Your photos, videos and creative projects stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them. As with any creative app, parents and teachers should provide appropriate guidance when young children are using devices or sharing their work.
If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top so you can see when it was last revised.
