Dr. Hayot Berk Saydaliev – Adjunct Professor in Financial Economics at the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and also working as a full time Senior Consultant at KPMG Uzbekistan. Dr. Saydaliev served as Head of the Department for Macroeconomic Policy and Analysis at the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies. He is an expert in macro-finance, public finance management, banking and risk, with extensive experience working for International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and government agencies. His research primarily focuses on the interconnections between financial development, firm performance, and economic development.
He has provided expertise to international organizations such as the UNDP, UNCTAD, GIZ, WB, ADB, and the International Labour Organization. He also served as an independent advisor at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor. His areas of expertise include development economics, macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policy, fiscal federalism, government debt, taxation, banking and financial crises, financial regulation, access to financial services and inclusion, as well as SME finance and the allocation of financial resources at both corporate and individual levels.He has published in journals such as Renewable Energy, Economic Analysis and Policy, Economic Change and Restructuring, and the Journal of East-West Business.
He holds Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia. His MSc in Financial Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia explored financial sector efficiency in emerging markets. He also holds a B.Sc. in Hospitality from The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and a B.Sc. in International Economics from Tashkent State University. Dr. Saydaliev has also been an adjunct professor at the London School of Economics, Kazakh British Technical University, Tashkent State University of Economics, and the National University of Uzbekistan.
