Discourse and Conversation Analyst
I have a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Melbourne, with a focus on conversation analysis and Foucauldian discourse analysis in a Chinese-language context.Â
I research how people 'achieve' things in talk-in-interaction and storytelling, and how these impact social norms such as heterosexism, race, and community. I am also interested in the impacts of multilingualism, and have proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu and English.
