FOUNDER: I am Dr. Suszanne Hawthorne-Clay. My teaching experience spans from pre-school to college age learners. I have served as a professional educator for over 30 years and earned advanced degrees and several licensures enabling me to teach, counsel, supervise, and lead. I began my career as a daycare director and methodically became a public school classroom teacher, then middle school counselor, high school guidance counselor, and career technical counselor (sequentially), followed by leadership positions as an assistant principal, building-level principal, and central-office administration in pupil personnel, then finally adult learning, professional development, and higher education teaching.
I have taught graduate level courses such as Cultural Diversity, Child Development, Human Behavior, Curriculum Design, Action Research, and Research Writing. I also have a few special interests that I have been researching and have had opportunities to present on such topics as Female Mentorship, Cultural Responsiveness, Gentle Teaching, Instructional Coaching, Socially Healthy Schools, Urban School Reform, and School Leadership.
