Hawthorne Elementary is proud to be the premier Spanish Immersion school in JCPS! We are a small elementary school in the Highlands, allowing us to provide a unique experience tailored to each child.

The Hawthorne PTA supports the school with extracurricular activities, classroom supplies, school improvements, teacher appreciation, and much more. We would love for you to join us!

PTA Board elections are coming up in April!  We're looking for new faces to join the PTA Board. It’s a fun way to get involved, support our school, and help make great things happen for our kids. If you’re interested in joining, please fill out the survey below by March 15th.

PTA Board Interest Survey

Hawthorne's PTA is composed the following elected positions: 

• President: Manages the organization's goals, liaises with school administration, and ensures PTA commitments are met

• Treasurer: Oversees finances and budgetary matters; Maintains financial records

• Secretary: Takes meeting minutes, organizes the board, and manages communications

• 1st Vice President: Collaborates with the President and school administration to learn the role of the President; Assumes responsibilities of president in their absence.

• VP - Events: Leads school-wide event / festival coordination, including social activities; Position can be held by two people

• VP - Engagement: Works with families and school staff to build PTA membership and engagement

• VP - Volunteers: Coordinates with parents and community partners for event support

• VP - Marketing: Leverages communications, social media, and other channels to bring awareness to PTA events; Supports the creation of the yearbook

• VP - Fundraising & Partnerships: Organizes fundraising efforts, including Give for Good; Engages community partners to acquire donations and other forms of support

• VP - Merchandise: Manages the sale and distribution of school spirt wear / merchandise

The PTA Board also has several appointed positions: 

• Grade Level Representative: Acts as a liaison between parents, teachers, and the PTA for their grade level; Supports staff appreciation activities

• Board Shadow: Joins board meetings and helps at events, without full responsibility of a board position

Candidates must attend monthly meetings and fulfill responsibilities outside school hours. We welcome all levels of experience and encourage anyone passionate about supporting our school community to apply.
