We get a lot of questions here at the HSC, so we've compiled a list of the most common ones!
Q: What are your hours?
A: 11:00 am - 7:00 pm daily, weather permitting.
Q: Are we allowed to bring in outside food?
A: Yes! We allow outside food and drink, we just ask that patrons do not bring glass containers. All food and drink must be consumed at the circular tables surrounding the pool, or in the picnic area. Water may be consumed poolside from plastic or metal bottles.
Q: Are floaties allowed?
A: Yes, we allow life jackets and puddle jumpers in the shallow end of the front pool. Children wearing floaties must have an adult in the water with them at all times. Children wearing floaties are not permitted off the slide or diving board.
Q: Does the pool close when it's raining?
A: Sometimes. If the staff cannot see the bottom of the pool during rain, we may close the pool temporarily. Swimming is not permitted during thunder and lightning, and the grounds may close during storms depending on the severity.
Q: Are children allowed in the lap pool?
A: Yes! Anyone who is swimming laps is permitted in the lap pool. We ask that parents remind their children what lap swimming should look like, and we ask that patrons follow lap lane etiquette at all times.
Q: Can my child go in the pool with a diaper?
A: We allow swim diapers in the kiddie pool, but children must be toilet trained and diaper-free to enter the recreational or lap pools.
Q: Is there an age requirement for the slide or diving board?
A: No, there is no age requirement. We ask that anyone going into the deep end of the pool know how to swim, however. The deep end is 11 feet deep and swimmers must be able to swim through this area independently, from the slide or diving board to the ladders.
Q: Is the pool heated?
A: The front pool is heated! Our installation project has been completed, and the unit is ready to go! We will not be using it daily, but we will turn it on as often as necessary.
