While the majority of astronomical observations are done on unchanging targets, there are also events where the target undergoes some change. Details will be added here as these occur and are observed.
As of January 2025 only one transient event has been observed at HawkASTRO - a supernova in NGC 4216.
Note: Supernovae are more frequently seen in external galaxies - but sometimes a star in our own galaxy will brighten significantly and then fade away. There are many types of variable stars in our own galaxy.
