If you want powerful over-ear isolation with 100 hours of continuous playtime for long commutes or work sessions, choose havit Space S1; if you need a compact in-ear solution with real-time AI translation and superior sweat resistance for the gym, choose Anker Soundcore P31i.
• havit Space S1: Delivers industry-leading hybrid adaptive noise cancellation up to -45dB and massive 100-hour battery life, but its over-ear design is bulky and less ideal for intense movement.
• Anker Soundcore P31i: Offers deep 52dB noise reduction, LDAC Hi-Res audio, and an IP55 rating for heavy workouts, yet it sacrifices total runtime compared to the on-ear competitor.
• The Pick: Choose the havit Space S1 for stationary listening where comfort and endurance matter most, and grab the Soundcore P31i specifically for active use like gym sessions or travel where portability is key.
The havit Space S1 is built for people who prioritize immersion and endurance above all else. This is not a pair of headphones designed to be tucked into a pocket; it is a substantial over-ear device that wraps around your ears with polyurethane padding. The sheer scale of its battery capacity is its defining feature. With a staggering 100 hours of playtime without ANC engaged, and still holding strong at 72 hours when noise cancellation is active, this device eliminates the anxiety of charging entirely. If you are someone who listens to music or podcasts for eight hours straight while working from home, or you are planning a cross-country flight where outlets are scarce, the Space S1 becomes an extension of your day rather than a device you constantly worry about powering down.
The audio performance is engineered for depth. Equipped with 40mm dynamic drivers and support for LHDC high-resolution audio, the sound profile leans towards rich bass and balanced mids. This makes it exceptional for critical listening in a quiet environment. The hybrid adaptive noise cancellation system works aggressively, pushing up to -45dB of noise reduction. It automatically adjusts based on your surroundings, which means whether you are sitting in a busy office or on a subway, the distraction level drops significantly. You also get transparency mode when you need to hear announcements, but the primary draw here is the ability to shut out the world completely for days at a time.

However, this form factor comes with a trade-off. Because these are over-ear headphones weighing in at 280 grams, they are not suitable for high-intensity physical activity. The size and weight make them cumbersome during a run or a heavy lifting session. They are best suited for the "clip on earbuds for gym" crowd to avoid, as they lack the sweat-proofing certifications found in smaller earbuds. These headphones are for the traveler, the remote worker, and the audiophile who wants to sink into their music without interruption. If you value comfort over long periods and need a device that can last through a week of commuting on a single charge, this is your machine.
The Anker Soundcore P31i serves a completely different user: the person who lives an active lifestyle and needs technology that moves with them. As in-ear buds with a lightweight plastic and silicone enclosure weighing only 59 grams, these are designed to stay put during movement. The standout feature here is the IP55 rating, which explicitly certifies them as resistant to dust and water jets. This makes them one of the best sweat resistant sleep headphones for gym enthusiasts because they can handle the humidity of a hot yoga class or the spray of rain during an outdoor run without internal damage. Unlike the bulkier over-ear alternative, these fit securely in the ear canal, offering a secure seal that actually enhances the passive noise isolation before the electronics even kick in.
Audio quality is punchy and detailed, powered by 11mm dynamic drivers and certified Hi-Res Audio via LDAC. While the driver size is smaller than the havit's 40mm counterparts, the balanced armature tuning allows for crisp treble and tight bass that cuts through gym noise. The real-time adaptive noise cancellation is even more aggressive on paper, reaching up to 52dB of reduction. This is crucial for blocking out the clatter of weights or the roar of a treadmill motor. Furthermore, the inclusion of six AI-enhanced microphones ensures that your voice remains clear on calls even in windy conditions, a feature that over-ear headphones often struggle to replicate due to microphone placement.
But there is a limitation regarding battery endurance. While the case provides a total of 50 hours of power, the buds themselves offer 10 hours on a single charge, dropping to 8 hours with ANC enabled. This is excellent for a daily commute or a standard workout, but it requires you to charge the case more frequently than you would need to top off the havit. Additionally, the touch controls, while convenient, require a bit more precision than physical buttons if you are wearing gloves or have sweaty fingers. This product is for the commuter who needs a quick 10-minute charge to get 3.5 hours of listening, the international traveler who might utilize the 100+ language AI translation features, and anyone who refuses to compromise on a secure fit for the sake of convenience.
• Best for Battery Life: The havit Space S1 wins decisively with 100 hours of playback, making it the superior choice for long-haul travelers or those who hate charging devices.
• Best for Noise Cancellation Depth: The Anker Soundcore P31i edges ahead with 52dB of adaptive noise cancellation compared to the Space S1's 45dB, providing a slightly quieter environment for intense focus.
• Best for Gym and Sweat Resistance: The Anker Soundcore P31i is the clear winner here, thanks to its IP55 rating and secure in-ear design, whereas the over-ear Space S1 lacks sweat protection.
• Best for High-Resolution Audio: Both support Hi-Res, but the havit Space S1 uses larger 40mm drivers with LHDC, while the P31i utilizes LDAC with smaller drivers; the S1 offers a wider soundstage, while the P31i offers tighter detail.
• Best for Portability: The Anker Soundcore P31i fits in any pocket, whereas the havit Space S1 requires a dedicated carrying case and occupies significant space in a bag.
• Best for Calls: The Anker Soundcore P31i features six AI-enhanced mics specifically tuned for wind noise reduction, making it far superior for phone calls outdoors compared to the five-mic setup on the Space S1.
• Best for Comfort During Long Sessions: The havit Space S1 offers plush over-ear cups that distribute weight evenly, ideal for sitting for hours, while the P31i may cause ear fatigue after extended wear due to the in-ear pressure.
• Best Value for Travelers: The havit Space S1 includes dual-device connection and Bluetooth 6.0, perfect for switching between a laptop and phone seamlessly, though the P31i offers unique AI translation features for global travelers.
In my opinion, I would buy the havit Space S1 if my primary goal was to create a personal sanctuary at home or during travel, where the ability to listen for days without charging is the ultimate luxury. However, since I am looking for a noise canceling headphone for gym use, the Anker Soundcore P31i is the only logical choice. Its IP55 rating and secure in-ear fit make it durable enough for sweat and movement, features the over-ear Space S1 simply cannot match. The Space S1 is a marvel of endurance, but for the specific context of physical fitness and active mobility, the Anker's design philosophy aligns perfectly with the demands of a workout.
Only the Anker Soundcore P31i is suitable for the gym, as it carries an IP55 sweat and water resistance rating and a secure in-ear design. The havit Space S1 is an over-ear model without sweat protection and is too bulky for high-intensity exercise.
The havit Space S1 is the superior choice for long trips, offering up to 100 hours of playtime on a single charge. The Anker Soundcore P31i offers 50 hours total with its case, requiring more frequent recharging.
Yes, both support Hi-Res audio, but they use different codecs. The havit Space S1 supports LHDC with 40mm drivers, while the Anker Soundcore P31i supports LDAC with 11mm drivers. Both deliver lossless audio quality according to their respective data sheets.
Both models feature advanced noise control, but the Anker Soundcore P31i is optimized for this with six AI-enhanced microphones and a specific wind-noise reduction algorithm, making it more effective for outdoor calls than the havit Space S1.
