Deep Tissue Massage is a slow, restorative modality, which works both superficially, and deeply. During this type of massage, I seek to assist you with areas of tightness and pain. Often, Someone visits me, barely able to walk through the door because the tension in their body has become so intense, that they literally can't walk, or move themselves in a natural way.
It's great to be able to deliver massage that gives you the movement and freedom you seek, and restores you to where you were.
Remember to always commuicate with me, so I work in a way that's as comfortable to you as possible. Occasionally, really deep, strong massage can be painful. I've had tight calves worked on, the pain so intense, that I had no choice but to yell and let it out.
A couple of weeks, and some bruising later, the calves have never been anywhere near as tight as they were.
So I work within your bounds of tolerance, that seeks to minimize discomfort. There may be times, however, where it might be on the edge. Always keep me informed. Remember, you can always ask me to stop; I may even be able to use a different technique to relax any tightness, which may be more helpful for you. Nothing is cast in stone.
Note:
Though I go through any possible issues with you, I thoroughly recommend you take advice from your doctor, before contacting me.
I'm often contacted, and asked about medical conditions, and whether or not massage would be appropriate.
Though I have good grounding in contra indications ( when and why massage might not be a good idea), I'm not medically qualified to make diagnoses, or recommend any course of treatment.
