Haunted Halloween Ball combines elements of a lavish VIP nightclub and lounge experience, with the exclusiveness of a luxury hotel gala, and the terror and chills of a haunted house. The moment you enter Congress Plaza Hotel, you will be directed to the massive 20,000 square foot ballrooms of the 122-year-old hotel, which has been transformed into an abandoned hotel run by zombies.

With things feeling very different this year and many of our typical Halloween festivities being tabled, I wanted to come up with some other fun ideas to make things feel special. Decorating a haunted version of a gingerbread house turned out to be so much fun!

Every maze, haunted house and the hayride were scary and entertaining. It was a really fun night and well put together, we were especially impressed with the animatronics and organization of the event. Will definitely return in the future.

This is my almost finished haunted Halloween project from the free design that was offered. I used a string of purple lights instead of green. The string is long enough to light the inside and the big tree in back of the house.

Another fun project for me, and I (as usual) learned a lot from doing it.

I love how changing fabrics for a project gives them a whole new feel! These houses are sewn up using my Merry Little Christmas Village pattern but they become happy haunted houses with just a switch of fabric. I am going to share some tips and tricks for sewing your own Halloween village!

Add interest to your applique by using a contrasting thread to stitch them down. I like to go around the applique twice with the stitch lines overlapping a bit to create a sketched look to the pieces just for some added fun! Buttons, ribbon or trims can also be fun additions to your haunted Halloween houses.

Haunted Lagoon

Ghosts, goblins, and other creatures will join this spooky swim! Come dressed as your favorite scary creature, princess, or superhero, and enjoy a fun haunted house outing before changing and taking a dip in the lagoon.

Haunted Hayride

Hop on a hayride to explore the haunted trails of Dorris Ranch. The ride features live interactive performances. This not-too-scary event is great for all ages. Tickets sell fast, so mark your calendar and sign up early.
