University of the Azores

Founded in 1976, the University of the Azores has established itself over the decades as a reference institution within the archipelago, building scientific and cultural ties. But it has also established itself as a universalist institution, enhancing the relevance that its Atlantic nature gives it: a true bridge between Europe, the Americas and other geographies of knowledge, confirming that, in it, the Scientia Lucet.

UAc is located in Ponta Delgada's city center, within a botanical garden and its own car park. It is 5 km from João Paulo II International Airport and 5-10 minutes' walk from the seafront downtown. Public and private transport make it easy to reach any area of ​​the city and the paradisiacal island of São Miguel.

The University of the Azores (UAc) has on the Ponta Delgada campus an Amphitheater Corps (consisting of Aula Magna, North and South Auditoriums and Exhibition Hall), 3 Amphitheaters, Classrooms and Video Conferencing Rooms.
