2006-07 Eastcote Club Championship (we were Eastcote Chess Club back then).
This season I wanted to reward players who tried to play more Championship games. I did this by using a formula = SUM (Total Games Played, (Total Wins x3), (Total Draws x2)). The tiebreak was settled by most games played. This allows more active players to compete with the stronger players.
In this year, 75 year-old Jim Wrigglesworth became Club Champion by virtue of being the most active!!
Sadly this was the season where we lost Brian Irving - long time Eastcote Chess Club Tournament Controller, Hillingdon League Controller and A team player.
