Bio
Hello! My name is Dr. Haswanth Vundavilli, and I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad.
I currently head the Biological System Analysis and Control (BSAC) Lab, where we bridge the gap between Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, and Embedded Instrumentation through an Electrical Engineering lens. We use intelligent system analysis to engineer closed-loop strategies, transforming multi-modal biological data into precise interventions that regulate dynamic disease states.
Previously, I held postdoctoral appointments in Dr. Antonio del Sol's lab at the University of Luxembourg in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, and Dr. Wenyi Wang's lab at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. From 2016-2021, I was a graduate student working towards my direct-Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Aniruddha Datta in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I graduated with a direct-Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in May 2021. I received my Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering (with a minor in Physics) from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in July 2015.
