Hastings Paints is a FaceBook site that invites all local artists to share their talents and collaborate with others.  Private message a picture and description of your work which will be posted.  Hastings Paints receives over 1,000 views per week and has a local following of over 200 artists. 

Arts Organization

Hastings Prescott Arts Council seeks to foster the arts in our communities. We provide scholarships for artists in the areas and invest in the Orange Dragon Art Gallery.

Performing Arts

River Valley Band is community concert band serving  Hastings and surrounding areas. It was founded in 2011 by the Hastings Prescott Arts Council. It is comprised of 60+ band members ranging in age from 18 to 85. Our band director, Tom Maeck, was formerly the band director at Eagan High School and is highly regarded throughout the metropolitan area. The band performs 4 concerts each year at the Hastings Middle School auditorium. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at the Hastings Middle School band room. River Valley Chorale is a community choir serving Hastings and the surrounding communities. Founded with the support of the Hastings Prescott Arts Council, the choir is under the artistic direction of Ryan McCoy. The group rehearses during the academic year and performs in December and May. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at the Hastings Middle School in the choir room. Find out more information on our website or Facebook page.

Sam St. John is a mixed media indigenous artist. Sam's art is grounded in the essence of storytelling, resilience, authenticity, and vulnerability. Sam is a passionate advocate for mental health and believes that art is here to heal us and connect us. Sam uses a variety of materials such as spray paint, acrylic paint, oil pastel, watercolor, marker, pencil, and other materials. Sam is also an art facilitator and believes art is for everyone.
