Hassell Wilkinson

My name is Hassell Wilkinson and I am a senior at Oxford High School. I have been involved with television production my entire high school career. This year, I serve as Editor-in-Chief of the broadcast department at Oxford High School. We currently produce 4 shows including a daily news show, a weekly live-stream sports program, a social issues podcast, and a monthly news magazine show. During my junior year, I co-created the 2 Minute Morning, our daily news show, which now includes over 200 episodes. I designed the format and graphics of the show and trained our crew on proper production. Our department partnered with HottyToddy.com to share our newscasts with their potential audience of 100,000 viewers. During these 4 years, I have learned first-hand important aspects of broadcast journalism: directing, writing, filming, editing, reporting, etc. In the fall, I plan on attending the University of Mississippi majoring in Journalism in hopes of one day working in the entertainment television field.
