I was born and raised in beautiful Colorado, and I’ve always loved music, nature, climbing, and most of all, my family. I hold a master’s degree in education and have thirteen years of combined experience teaching school-aged children and providing care for children ages 0–12.
After having my daughter Finley in 2023, I spent eight months fully devoted to her care before opening my home to support another baby in the community. That experience brought me so much joy that it inspired me to open my home to more families and become a licensed family child care provider in 2025.
As both an educator and a mom, I’m passionate about creating a thoughtful, accessible solution for families in this community. I love creating a space where young children feel safe, connected, and supported as they build friendships, independence, and confidence in a calm home environment.
What makes my program truly different is the way I show up as a caregiver. I don’t rush children or force them into a rigid day. Instead, I pay attention to what children are bringing with them each day—their energy, emotions, and needs—and I shape our day in a way that supports them calmly and respectfully. This level of individualized care is uncommon in larger classroom settings.
I also believe great care comes from strong relationships. I take time to get to know each child and their family personally, and I schedule monthly meetups to connect outside of school hours and build genuine community around your child.
Alongside Mrs. Rachel, children also enjoy the presence of Scooter and Sam — our two friendly, fuzzy companions. Their calm presence adds warmth to the classroom and gives children opportunities to practice gentleness and empathy.
My preschool program follows Colorado early learning standards while staying deeply play-based. Each day includes two group learning blocks: an Academic Gathering focused on early literacy, language, math, science, and theme-based learning, and a Life Skills + Social-Emotional Gathering focused on independence, emotional regulation, friendship skills, conflict resolution, and practical life. The rest of the day is centered around hands-on play, creative exploration, movement, meaningful routines, and time outdoors.
In my years of teaching school-age children (especially kindergarten), I find that play-based learning is the most effective and developmentally appropriate way young children learn. Through free play, children explore, build independence, practice social skills, and develop their own understanding of the world—at their own pace and in their own way—while I guide and support their growth through connection, conversation, and thoughtful activities.
My approach is Montessori-inspired, with an emphasis on independence, practical life skills, hands-on learning, and respectful guidance. I also incorporate music, stories, and routines that support social-emotional development and build confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for kindergarten readiness. Outdoor time is a natural part of our day, giving children space to move their bodies, regulate emotions, and connect with the world around them in every season.
Harvest Street Harvest Street Early Learning is designed to feel cozy, welcoming, and safe—like a second home. Children enjoy the benefits of social learning in a small group while still receiving individualized attention throughout the day.
My program includes a main playroom for learning and play, a backyard for outdoor time and nature-based exploration, and separate nap/rest spaces supported by baby monitors for restful sleep.
I also provide a rich, hands-on learning environment with a complete catalogue of Lovevery learning materials, including their reading resources. Children have access to open-ended toys and purposeful activities that support language, early problem-solving, fine motor development, and imaginative play. I also have a real-life play kitchen where children can practice practical life skills through everyday routines like pretend cooking, serving, and cleanup.
Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are included daily. Meals are served family-style when possible, and I encourage children to build independence through real-life routines like serving, cleaning up, and helping care for the classroom.
Full-time tuition is $275/week (full-time) billed bi-weekly. There is a $50 annual enrollment fee. Field trip fees vary by venue, and I plan one field trip per month.
Beginning in 2027, Colorado UPK will help cover a portion of tuition for 4-year-olds, as well as qualifying 3-year-olds. In Colorado, UPK provides up to 15 hours per week of preschool in the year before kindergarten, with some younger children qualifying for limited support as well. More information can be found on the Colorado UPK website: https://upk.colorado.gov/
