🐥 Ongoing Research
My ongoing research aims to understand how communication about others’ reputations (e.g., gossip or online reviews) differs across societies, and how such communication contributes to cooperation and coordination among people. In particular, I focus on the roles of different agents within reputation systems, such as information senders, information users, and actors who are the targets of reputational concern, in order to capture the macro dynamics of these systems.
For example, across different societies, what kinds of reputational information do people tend to share? What information do they rely on when making decisions? And what types of shared information motivate people to cooperate?
To address these questions, I employ a range of methodologies, including experience sampling, online experiments, and large-scale data analysis.
