(A still from a livestream Introduction to Geometry.)
During my PhD, I lectured three courses: Introduction to Math (twice) and Introduction to Geometry (once). For the latter course I wrote lecture notes with fellow PhD student Jetze Zoethout. You can find the lecture notes (in Dutch) embedded below. For my efforts, I was awarded a BKO (the first out of two Dutch teaching qualifications).
Part of the Introduction to Geometry course had to be taught online due to COVID-19 measures. We (Jetze Zoethout and I) decided to livestream the lectures, using a 1080p webcam, a microphone (later replaced by a wireless headset) and a movable blackboard we moved to our house. We streamed using OBS and YouTube. We used Mentimeter so that students could ask questions (which Jetze relegated to me) and found that students actually asked more questions than in normal lectures (probably due to the anonimity of the person who asked the question). This setup was received very well by students, also in other courses that decided to use the same setup.
If you are considering a similar setup, or just want to know about my experiences and/or share yours, please send me an e-mail!
