Tests 50%
Daily Work 20:
Quizzes 30%
**The lowest test grade for each 9-week grading period will be dropped.
**I do not give “extra-credit”, however, your child can receive extra points on their tests and quizzes by getting a parent signature. Parent signatures are worth 5 extra points. Students can also do test corrections on any test and receive half credit back for each corrected response. Test corrections and parent signatures can greatly benefit your child’s grade in my class and are highly encouraged.
**Assignments are typically due the day after they are assigned. If a student is absent, the work will be due the day after the student returns to school. Each day an assignment is late there will be 10 points deducted from the grade.
**Any missing assignment that is not turned in by the end of the week it is assigned (Friday) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED and will receive a zero*
**You may check your child's grades any time through PowerSchool. Usernames and passwords are usually found on the bottom of your child's grade card. If you need help creating an account or need login information, please contact the school for assistance.
Winfield Elementary School
Behavior Policy
To ensure a focused and safe learning environment, the faculty and staff of Winfield Elementary School have developed a behavior policy that will be implemented the school year.
The behavior plan will consist of the following guidelines:
·1st offense- Warning
· 2nd offense- Teacher Choice (loss of recess, privileges, etc.)
· 3rd offense- Parent Contact from the Teacher
· 4th offense- Referral to Office
If a student receives two in-school suspensions, they will not be eligible to participate in any off campus trips. If a student receives an out-of-school suspension, they will not be able to participate in any off campus trips.
The policy will be implemented school wide, as we have high-expectations for our students. We are excited to continue moving forward and to a great school year. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the behavior policy, please feel free to contact the school at 423-569-8288
