Here, I completed mathematical research under two professors relating to numerical analysis, differential equations, and coloring hypergraphs. I earned a 3.85 GPA while also participating in activities like Swing Club, Math Club, and Jazz Band.

As an Instructor of Record, I have taught courses including Math 98/108 (Fall 2023), Math 94 (Spring 2024), Math 211- Calculus I (Summer 2024), Math 92/102 (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025), and Math 115- Precalculus (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026). Each semester's obligations includes lecturing, grading, and discussion for between fifty and sixty students.

In the spring of 2026, I worked with Dr. Pamela Harris, Matt McClinton, and Joakim Jakovleski on the continuation of research performed by Pamela, Dr. Jen Elder (Missouri Western State University), and Anthony Simpson in 2024. We converted words in nine languages into sequences of digits (using alphabetical and other orderings), then studied combinatorial statistics on these sequences.

During the senior year of my undergraduate experience, I worked under Dr. Peh Ng to mathematically describe a new feature of hypergraphs called their lean number. This allowed us to generalize a type of knot coloring called tricolorability to a much larger class of objects, and it spawned several novel combinatorial problems.

Following my CIberCATSS experience, Dr. Pamela E. Harris and I consolidated our computational results. With her helpful guidance, I wrote Lean Coloring Hypergraphs, which you may find detailed in the Research & Projects section of my website, or on the ArXiv. This paper contains a full treatment of the topic, equivalent problems, and several general results.

During this summer research opportunity funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Dr. Barry McQuarrie and I used Runge-Kutta-inspired methods in Mathematica to approximate solutions to several systems of differential equations that describe data, including the Lotka-Volterra equations and others.

Undergraduate Research (UR@UWM)
During July 2026, I worked with Dr. Pamela E. Harris to oversee research conducted by Ms. Grace Givens and Ms. Sadie Baker, two incoming first-year students to UWM. We met daily in order to produce research relevant to parking functions and their variations. In addition to growing their mathematical prowess, we also introduced them to LaTeX, coding in Python, and several sights around campus. The program concluded with Grace and Sadie giving poster presentations on July 30 and 31.

CIberCATSS
During the summer of 2025, I engaged in a research project at UWM funded through a grant dedicated to helping students use high-performance computation in their research. My project was a continuation of the research I performed under Dr. Peh Ng in 2018 - 2019. Under Dr. Phil Chang, Dr. Pamela E. Harris, and other professors at UWM, I used Python to calculate the lean number of thousands of hypergraphs. This helped us understand relationships between particular features of hypergraphs, which are popular and relevant objects in several disciplines.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) at UWM
SIAM is an international community of applied mathematicians. I serve as the Vice President of the SIAM chapter at UWM, which was revived by Temitope Comfort Iroko and Dr. Gabriella Pinter at UWM in 2025. My responsibilities included taking meeting notes, managing recruitment, and facilitating monthly speaking events. At UWM, we hosted several impressive speakers, including Dr. Michael Dairyko, Dr. Kolin Konjura, Dr. Kimberly Harry, Dr. Daniel Noelck, Dr. Daniel Gulbrandsen, and Dr. Matthew Petering. In May 2026, we received an official club charter from the university.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute- UWM
I will be holding a two-lecture-long seminar concerning the history, tools, and applications of mathematical graph coloring. The audience will be mainly curious adults that are not UWM students.

AWM Graduate School Panel
Several faculty of UWM and I participated in a panel led by the Association for Women in Mathematics chapter of UWM. Our audience consisted of mostly undergraduate mathematics researchers. I was selected to share my experiences applying for graduate school, navigating it, and planning beyond it.

Ponce REU Colloquium
Mr. Joakim Jakovleski and I virtually presented an introductory talk for our Discrete Language Analysis paper. The audience was primarily undergraduate students participating in the Ponce virtual REU. Our intention was threefold: 1. to explain our research and how it arose, 2. to allow these students to hear about how research in graduate school is conducted, and 3. to explain why graduate school may be right for them.

This award is provided by the late Morris and Miriam Marden family. It is awarded to graduate students with an outstanding paper written on a mathematical topic as deemed by a committee of faculty members. For this application, I submitted the Lean Coloring Hypergraphs paper detailed in the Research & Projects section of my website.
