Youth Exchange | 29 May – 6 June 2025 | Pervolia, Larnaca, Cyprus

In June 2025, Harmonia Youth Network successfully hosted the youth exchange “From Do Nothing, to Do Something for Climate”, bringing together motivated young people and youth leaders from Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic. The project created a dynamic environment for participants to explore, learn, and act on environmental issues through hands-on activities and innovative non-formal education methods.
Aims and Objectives
The project aimed to equip young people and stakeholders with the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed for environmental protection, sustainable development, and responsible resource use. Through creative approaches, participants were encouraged to:
Build personal awareness about eco-friendly lifestyles.
Combat myths about global warming and understand its critical impact.
Raise awareness of modern environmental challenges such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change.
Engage in practical activities like waste sorting, recycling, and sustainable practices.
Explore innovative solutions such as renewable energy, urban farming, and circular economy initiatives.
Share good practices in youth work and environmental protection.
Develop non-formal education methods for future projects.
Build an international network of NGOs to promote sustainability.
Participants
Age: 18–30 years (group leaders 18+)
Skills: Basic or good English knowledge
Profile: Passion for ecology, energy, or agriculture; active and willing to fully participate
Diversity & Inclusion: Gender-balanced and culturally diverse groups
Accommodation & Venue
Participants stayed at Journalist Village in Pervolia, Cyprus, in flats of 1–2 bedrooms accommodating 4–7 people each. Each flat included private bathrooms, kitchens, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. Towels and linen were provided; participants brought their own toiletries.
Travel & Funding
The youth exchange was fully funded by Erasmus+, covering accommodation, meals, project activities, and travel (within specified limits). Travel reimbursement was processed after submitting all original documents, completing the Mobility Tool+, and meeting all project requirements.
Activities & Outcomes
Participants engaged in a wide range of activities designed to foster teamwork, creativity, and environmental responsibility, including:
Practical workshops on sustainable practices and resource management
Intercultural activities and sharing of best practices
Outdoor projects, recycling initiatives, and discussions on European Green Deal goals
Development of leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
This project marked a major milestone for Harmonia Youth Network, successfully bringing together diverse young people to take action for climate awareness and setting the stage for future youth exchanges in Cyprus and abroad.
