Basically I've lost volume control. Usually when i cast from chrome my speakers have been turned way up by someone else in the house, and I need to bring the volume down initially so not to overload my speakers, now this option has been taken away? Is google turning into Apple? Should I downgrade to previous version of Chrome?

Have resently switched from Samsung to Iphone. First couple of weeks the chromecast icon was available in my chrome browser to cast videos from e.g newspapers etc. The icon has at som time switched to airplay icon for Apple TV casting. The chromecast icon only appear on apps, like Netflix, HBO etc. The phone setup uses chrome as deafult browser. All Airplay settings has been turned off (and restarted the phone afterwards). I have tried to look at the settings in the browser, but can't seem to find where i can choose witch casting device i want to use in chrome? How can i get the chromecast icon back in the chrome browser. Have several different generations of chromecasts in my home.

Earlier it was working fine, So I choose other and put my network name manually and entered password but it gave me error as chromecast Can't find wifi network I am proving screenshots regarding that.

I am running Google Chrome version 64.0.3282.186 installed from the AUR. I have attempted to cast a tab from Chromium as well, but for some reason, it can't even find my chromecast. In addition, I have also tried to cast from Vivaldi and I can cast from Vivaldi, but again, it shows a green screen and the cursor. I am using the built in cast functionality of Chrome (right-click>cast). When I cast something that is "castable" (like an YouTube video), it casts it perfectly. But, when I attempt to cast a web page, that's when I get the green screen and I am unable to see anything. I cast a lot of MLB streams from and since the videos on the streaming sites generally don't have casting functionality, I have to cast the entire webpage. I have attempted to cast both web pages that have video and text only web pages and both have the same result: a green screen and the audio streaming in the background if I am casting a webpage with a video.

Supported regions

Netflix is available on select Chromecast devices in all regions where the device and Netflix service is available. For help getting started with your Chromecast and connecting it to your TV and Wi-Fi network, see support.google.com/chromecast.

I'm having issues chrome casting Poweramp. I can chrome cast Spotify, Radioplayer just fine. It also works with VLC for local files on the cellphone. While using Poweramp I have the 2 following issues :

Regarding connection issue, your saying that it's normal for VLC to access my local files while Poweramp is unable to chrome cast at all? (No chromecast Icon)? Both my apps are opened, VLC sees the chrome cast device, Poweramp doesn't. This would be because of the way VLC chrome casts? If so wouldn't the firewall rules apply to VLC as well?

Just found something out. Tried to stream local media from my pc to chromecast without succes. I didn't notice I had my VPN's firewall active. I just closed it, now I can stream from my PC to my chromecast device. Will try to look if something in Android phone is acting as a firewall...

So if I understand correctly the chromecast device must be able to access How can I make the device connect to that page? Is there a router parameter or else I can modify to change that? My computer and cellphone can access that website (I assume it' normal to only see Poweramp logo).

@andrewilley if you want to transcode all your casted music to mp3, yes I guess it's possible, but I don't think our users want this. Also cc.powerampapp.com is not an issue. From the user logs there is connection issue within chromecast libraries (==google play services).

As mentionned above by Andre and Motley G, I would much prefer having the higher quality audio to chromecast. However I would prefer having transcoded quality from Poweramp then nothing at all, hence my request for an option to default back to the standard way to chromecast.

I have had the exact same problem with my Note 10 and my s23 ultra phones whatever Power Amp is doing to cast has not worked on any device that I've installed it I cannot Chromecast to anything It prepares to be chromecasting when I change the volume on my Chromecast volume noise happens as if the phone is controlling the Chromecast there is no music coming out of any of my speakers this is a power amp issue and it did not happen when I first installed power amp 3 or 4 years ago. It appears like you have not debugged your software could one of you install it on an s23 Ultra or any Samsung device and see if you can get your power amp software to Chromecast because I don't think you'll be able to thank you

I just got it going again by going to in Google chrome and used chrome's tab cast functionality to cast to the chromecast (audio). This freed up something because now all my other clients suddenly work again. This is a Spotify connect issue with the chromecast.

OK community, support this idea and Dropbox will do it: the app needs to be chromecast compatible. It's the most functional way to project images - such as your photo shows in Dropbox - to a smart TV screen.

From the GUI, choose Controller > mDNS > Profiles. Verify the profile name in the Profile Name field and for Service Name, choose chromecast from the drop-down list. Click Add when you are done.

In circumstances where I need to present from a laptop I learned after

a lot of attempts using the chrome browser/ChromeCast approach that

using either an HDMI or VGA cable is a much better option for a

laptop. ff782bc1db
