You may have a look at NPAPI plugins in general, and their streaming APIs in particular. I can imagine that you create a plugin registered for, again, audio/mpeg MIME-type, and receives the data via NPP_NewStream, NPP_WriteReady and NPP_Write methods. The plugin can be wrapped into a Chrome extension. Though I made NPAPI plugins, I never used this API, and I'm not sure it will work as expected. Nethertheless, I'm mentioning this possibility here for completenees. This method requires some coding other than web-coding, meaning C/C++. NB. NPAPI plugins are deprecated and not supported in Chrome since September 2015.

I am doing a bunch of HTML5 video tests, trying to get the videos playing/streaming as fast as possible. For the most part, they start immediately on Safari and FireFox, however they take much longer on Google Chrome. I thought it was something in my code, but then I tried the direct video link and got the same results. From an empty cache, Safari and Firefox start just about instantly. Chrome is taking a full 30-40 seconds, which is obviously way too long. Am I missing something here? Here is the video link I'm testing: _files/IN_Intro-800.mp4
Additionally if you've enabled flags related to experimental javascript, HTML elements, and/ or video decoding/ encoding, you might want to audit such settings. Other things like plugins, (Chrome) apps, etc. might have an effect.
Hey I just saw that I have google chrome extension called ace script I think it was off ( not sure ) I removed it and ran both malwarebytes and nod32 av in depth scan it doesn't show anything. From what I've read it's a browser extension from ace stream (which I uninstalled long time ago) and sometimes the browser extension just reinstalls itself . Anyone had any issue like this and is it a malware or something ? Not sure how long have I had it since I thought I only had ABP Plus.
Hey itman, I saw that post but I didn't understand much ? . I just installed malwarebytes premium ( free trial ) to check for anything malicious. Should I disable push notifications on chrome ? What I've read on other thread was that even though I removed the program Ace Stream, there was something called roaming folder and had some leftovers from ace stream which I deleted it.
We were planning on updating the Extension around now anyway, (especially since there are now better methods of playing music through Chrome than using a plugin that requires a separate installation), so the update just forced us to work on something earlier than planned, and without as much time for planning and testing as we would have liked.
