I’m Hari Prapan, a Start Early Ph.D. Research Fellow in Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar, working under the guidance of Prof. Manisha Padala. My research centers on mechanism design in machine learning, exploring how incentive structures and strategic behavior influence learning systems.
Over the five years following my higher secondary education in 2020, I completed three science degree(s):
B.S. in Data Science and Applications from IIT Madras
B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics from the University of Delhi
M.Sc. in Data Science and Applied Statistics from the Central University of South Bihar
I was also a visiting undergraduate scholar at IIT Gandhinagar in summer of 2024, and later visiting postgraduate scholar at NIELIT Patna in spring semester of 2025.
My core expertise lies in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with strong interests in algorithmic design, optimization, and data-driven decision systems. I’m passionate about developing intelligent, fair, and efficient mechanisms that bridge theoretical insights with practical applications of AI.
Note: I am a native Magahi (𑂧𑂏𑂯𑂲) speaker. If you’d like to have an informal conversation with me, please either practice Magahi beforehand or come with a translator. For formal discussions, I am comfortable communicating in Magahi, Hindi, or English — in that order of preference.
