Neural / Haptic Interfaces
We aim to engineer and control the human tactile sensory system using wearable interfaces. These devices use stimulating components (actuators) to activate touch receptors under the skin and create tactile sensations.

Realistic Tactile Sensation in AR/VR
Haptic interfaces can bring the sense of touch into augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). However, most commercial haptic devices can only produce simple vibrations, which are far from natural touch sensations. We develop miniaturized multi-directional actuators that can stimulate different touch receptors in the skin to create more realistic tactile experiences.
Sensory substitution
How can we restore lost sensory functions? For people who lose sensory abilities such as vision, hearing, or balance, we develop wearable haptic systems that convert information into touch sensations delivered to alternative body locations.
