This Privacy Policy describes how ASULA ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our mobile application, Hard Focus (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Nature of Content & Disclaimer (Vital Importance) Hard Focus is a productivity tool designed to use "Reverse Psychology" and "Gamification" techniques. By downloading and using this App, you explicitly acknowledge and accept that:
The App uses provocative, aggressive, and harsh language (including but not limited to terms such as "Coward", "Weak", "Failure") solely for motivational purposes.
These labels are part of the App's mechanics to discourage distraction and are not intended to harass, bully, or personally attack the user.
You are voluntarily subjecting yourself to this discipline method. If you find such language offensive or harmful to your mental well-being, you should uninstall the App immediately.
2. How We Monitor Focus & Penalties Hard Focus is designed to help you stay disciplined without invading your privacy.
App Lifecycle Detection: We monitor the "lifecycle" state of the Hard Focus app itself. We detect when the app is moved to the background, minimized, or closed by the user.
Force-Close Detection: We actively detect if the application is force-closed or killed from the background during an active focus session. This action is registered as an "abandoned session" and triggers our internal penalty mechanism upon the next app launch to maintain discipline.
NO Spying on Other Apps: We DO NOT track, monitor, or collect data regarding which specific other applications you open, your web browsing history, or your activity within other apps. We do not use "Package Usage Stats" or Accessibility Services to spy on your other activities.
3. Network State & Ad-Fraud Prevention To maintain the integrity of our gamified penalty system, the App actively checks your device's network connection. Certain actions, such as "Giving Up" early or activating special features (like Zombie Mode), strictly require an active internet connection to serve mandatory advertisements. Attempting to bypass these penalties by disabling your internet connection will result in blocked functionality until the connection is restored.
4. Device Sensors & Permissions The App uses the device's accelerometer (motion sensor) to detect excessive shaking or movement. This is part of the "Anti-Cheat" feature.
Privacy Note: This sensor data is processed locally on your device in real-time. It is NOT recorded, saved, or transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
5. Data Storage (Local Only) We value your privacy. Your focus session history, streak counts, and usage statistics are stored locally on your device using secure storage methods.
No Cloud Storage: This data is NOT transmitted to external servers managed by us. If you uninstall the app or clear the app data/cache, your progress and streaks will be permanently lost.
6. User Input & Intelligent Analysis To provide tailored motivational responses, the App allows you to input text defining your focus goal.
Data Usage: This text input is processed locally to generate context-aware "harsh responses" in case of failure. It is used solely for the functionality of the app and is not shared with third parties.
7. Third-Party Services & Ads The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device for advertising, analytics, and app configuration purposes. We use the following services:
Google Play Services
AdMob (Google): We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use cookies and unique device identifiers (Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads based on your interests and usage.
Google Analytics for Firebase: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to understand how users interact with the App (e.g., how many times users successfully focus vs. give up). This data does not personally identify you.
Firebase Remote Config: We use this service to remotely update the App's configuration and enforce mandatory version updates to ensure all users have the most secure and bug-free experience.
Google Crashlytics: In case of an error in the app, we collect data and information on your phone called Log Data to diagnose and fix crashes.
8. Log Data & Data Retention Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app, and the time and date of your use of the Service. We retain Log Data for up to 90 days for diagnostic purposes. AdMob may retain advertising data according to Google's privacy policies.
9. Your Data Rights (GDPR & Global) Depending on your region, you may have specific rights regarding your data:
Access & Deletion: Since we store personal focus data locally on your device, you have full control. You can delete all your data instantly by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage.
Managing Your Consent: You have the right to withdraw or modify your consent for data collection and personalized advertising at any time. You can manage your privacy preferences directly within the App by navigating to Settings > Privacy Settings. Alternatively, you can reset your advertising ID via your device settings (Google > Ads).
10. Children’s Privacy These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Given the aggressive nature of the App's language and psychological approach, we strictly recommend this App for users aged 18 and above.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
